Maybe got three hours of sleep last night? It was quite warm sleeping in the car. I need to velcro in some bug netting around the back windows so that I can have some airflow. But on the plus side that means I was on the road by 7am.
Only one stop today – the Manatee Viewing Center near Tampa. It was crowded! It’s at a Tampa Electric powerplant. In the winter the manatees like the warm water in the plant’s discharge canal. There were quite a few manatees lumbering around the canal, mostly sitting just below the surface but occasionally a face or tail would be visible.
Tonight it’s packing and repacking and second-guessing every gear/life choice made. Tomorrow I put the car in storage, uber to the trailhead, and start hiking. I only plan on doing ~6 miles tomorrow since it will be a late start, but hopefully I can make it further.
